The Technologist Degree in Computer Science trains professionals with the skills to act in the development, implementation and administration of computer systems.
This degree is coordinated by UTEC in the interior of the country (Maldonado, San José and Paysandú).
Certification is granted by UTEC, UdelaR and UTU.
Upon graduation from the career, the Computer Science Technologist will have acquired training in the fundamental areas of computer science with a deepening in certain specific areas. This training will include fundamental theoretical aspects and a strong practical component throughout the career, including the use of modern technologies. It will also include the experience of developing a computer solution to a real problem, preferably carried out in the context of an internship in a company (Project / Internship).
A fundamental aspect is that although students use different technologies throughout their degree, the focus is on that when they graduate from it, they are able to adapt to working with new technologies that arise or that they have not studied at throughout the race. This aspect of training is fundamental, especially taking into account the constant evolution of tools and technologies in the ICT area.
Graduates of the Computer Technologist career will be able to build and evaluate computer solutions covering the tasks of software design and development, testing and documentation, eventually integrating different technologies. They can also work in areas related to IT infrastructure.
Graduates from Computer Processing and Maintenance and Computing of the Technological High School, and High School graduates from tracks which enable entrance to the School of Engineering.
