+ABOUT THE DEGREE

The Mechatronics Engineering career synergistically combines mechanical, electronic and computer engineering to train professionals capable of devising, developing, optimizing and automating equipment, processes and products with knowledge that allows them to adapt quickly to an organizational climate, preserving the productivity and competitiveness of companies and industries, the safety of people and the environment.

  • High school graduates from the Secondary Education Council (CES) from the following tracks: Physical-Mathematical, Mathematics and Deign, Biological Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Social-Economical, Social – Humanistic or equivalent plans.
  • Technical High School graduates from the Technical and Professional Education Council (CETP- UTU) from the following courses: Agricultural, Electrical – Electrotechnical, Electromechanics, Automotive Electromechanics, Ship Engine Operator, Aeronautics, Aircraft Systems, Propeller Systems, Avionics, Computing, Renewable Energies, Robotics and Telecommunications, Thermodynamics, Basic Industrial Chemistry, Construction or equivalent plans.
  • Technical High School graduates from the Technical and Professional Education Council (CETP- UTU) from the following courses: Electrical Installations, Renewable Energies-Biomass, IT Support, Electronics, Agricultural Mechanics, General Mechanics and Automotive Mechanics or equivalent plans. Students from the CIO in Science and Technology from the University of the Republic, Northern Cenur, with at least 50 earned credits will be able to pre-enroll to UTEC, even if they have not taken the Higher Secondary Education track required by the degree they are applying to.

Graduates from this degree will be competent to:

  • Install and put into service automated machinery, mainly in industrial and service environments.
  • Perform operational maintenance and performance improvement of automated installations and/or machinery.
  • Supervise and or participate in projects in the area of Mechatronics.
  • Develop professional relationships with clients and suppliers (nationally and internationally).

The graduate will be a professional with comprehensive, moral and ethical training, with the ability to create their own entrepreneurship, to innovate, investigate, design, operate, maintain and consult in processes with sophisticated automation systems, computer-aided control and / or technologies. information and communication.
