Environmental studies on soil, water, effluents and solid waste from domestic, agricultural and industrial activities.

  • Household, agricultural and industrial Effluents and Social Media Laboratory: analysis of different environmental physicochemical parameters for monitoring, evaluation and follow-up of treatment systems.
  • Biotechnology and Environmental Microbiology: development of solutions for the treatment and recovery of effluents and solid domestic, agricultural and industrial waste through microbial techniques. It allows the study of the microbial ecology present in biological reactors for the treatment (or recovery) of effluents or waste. Also the application of solutions through bioremediation and implementation of bioelectrochemical systems.
  • Water laboratory: advanced preparation of samples of water of underground, natural surface and marine origin. The determinations with this type of samples are at trace level, so their treatment requires a specific physical space.
  • Soil and foliar laboratory: advanced preparation of soil and foliar samples. The determinations with this type of samples are at trace level, so their treatment requires a specific physical space.
  • Instrumental analytical equipment laboratory: chemical analysis of all types of associated matrices within the scope of the UT. Only processed samples enter this laboratory for analysis in advanced technology instrumental equipment.
  • Geotechnology Laboratory: The geotechnology laboratory has the objective of developing different lines of research related to remote sensing and geographic information systems related to irrigation and environmental monitoring projects.

  • Ensamblaje de genomas de especies nuevas del Filo Chloroflexi a partir de metagenomas de sistemas de tratamiento de efluentes
  • Desarrollo de métodos para la prospección microbiana de hidrocarburos y la biorremediación de suelos
  • Secado de residuos de plantas depuradoras
  • Desarrollo de herramienta de autodiagnóstico sobre el uso y manejo del agua en la Cuenca del Santa Lucía
  • Desarrollo de insumos de construcción a partir de residuos plásticos
