UTEC Research and Development Directorate was created with the objective of developing, implementing and coordinating institutional policy guidelines regarding research, development and innovation, in a strategy of constant and active connection with social, economic and productive sectors, promoting the co-creation of knowledge.

The Strategic R&D Plan 2025 aims to develop research which is:

• extensionist

• co-created

• that adds value and promotes technological innovation

• aligned with the development strategy of the country
