ABOUT THE DEGREE

The Bachelor's Degree in Food Analysis trains professionals for the food and derivatives industry of the country with skills to undertake innovation and development projects in the sector, which allows the graduate to project in the workplace where they will develop their social and productive activity.

The Bachelor's degree trains professionals for the industry, ranging from the basic processes of food, water and derivatives, as well as the physical and operational controls of the process, in the last section the focus is on the food area, emphasizing the controls necessary for the production of food for domestic consumption and export, under current regulations, considering environmental impacts, certifications and authorizations necessary to determine that a food is suitable for human consumption.

Design and innovation are always present in the career, we approach the area of ​​agri-food, water and beverages, honey technology and derivatives, cereal technology, horticulture, oenology and technology and science of brewing during the educational trajectory.

  • Graduates from the Chemical Technologist Degree from CETP/UTU.
  • Graduates from the Meat Technologist Degree and the Technologist Degree in Agricultural Energy (prior preparatory course).
  • High school graduates from the Secondary Education Council from the following tracks: Biological and Agricultural Sciences, Physical-Mathematical and equivalent plans. -
  • Technical High School graduates from the Technical and Professional Education Council from the same discipline areas as in the previous case. For students graduated from the Chemical Technologist Degree, Meat Technologist Degree and Technologist Degree in Agricultural Energy from CETP/UTU-UdelaR, this degree offers continuity of studies, allowing them to graduate after completing four semesters.
  • Promotion and control of food production, from primary production to final disposal.
  • Development of innovation enterprises in the food area (food technologies, undertakings, food products and food-derivatives), in accordance with the national and regional needs of the food industry, within a framework of social food aid and friendly environmental management.
  • Technical support to food producers regarding the production process, promotion, authorization for sale, and legal provisions in force (National Bromatological Regulations) and marketing, among others.
  • Quality control of products, raw materials, waters of the food industry.
  • Design of food products, packaging and labeling, qualification of food and companies
    Industrial process control. 
  • Areas of work: laboratories and food production plants, public and private bodies for the registration, control and authorization of products for human and animal consumption, agro-industrial projects: control of seeds, silage.
  • Control of sanitizing or disinfectant products
