ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The Certificate in AI Digital Solution Development is a training program that takes participants from scratch to creating AI-powered digital products. Working on real-world projects, students learn programming fundamentals, task automation, the use of generative artificial intelligence, and the development of intelligent assistants.
The teaching-learning approach is practical: learning by building. Instead of theoretical classes, the program is organized around projects and peer-to-peer work on a platform that combines automated evaluation with close support. Furthermore, it focuses on the most current and in-demand skills in the market (generative AI, automation, and intelligent assistants), rather than just traditional programming.
This training is supported by Google, within the framework of the Uruguay Global II Program.
The mandatory formal requirement is to have completed Upper Secondary Education (high school).
The priority target audience is young people from the department of Canelones, upper secondary education graduates (Secondary or UTU), interested in taking their first steps in the tech world, with no prior programming experience or specific high school track required.
Priority will be given to female participation and residence in Canelones and the interior of the country. However, while this profile is prioritized, it is not exclusive: upper secondary education graduates of any age, academic background, or place of residence who are interested in the program may apply.
Upon completing the certificate, graduates will be able to design, customize, and integrate functional digital solutions powered by artificial intelligence. They master the fundamentals of Python programming, version control with Git/GitHub, and software development workflows, while understanding how contemporary AI tools work (language models, search, and model selection). They are prepared to build digital assistants, chatbots, and automation agents, as well as take an idea to a minimum viable product (MVP), including prototypes with multimedia generation and interfaces. All of this is done through a responsible, critical, and documented use of AI, strengthening their entry opportunities into the digital economy.
This training is offered in a hybrid format (combining self-paced work on a learning platform with in-person sessions) at the Digital Talent Hub in Canelones (Las Piedras), and is designed for young people from the department who want to take their first steps in the tech world, with no prior knowledge required.
The teaching format involves self-paced work on the platform by the student, plus a weekly in-person session of approximately 3 hours per group (1 morning group and 1 afternoon group).
In-person classes take place at the Parque Tecnológico Canario, Las Piedras.
First day of in-person class: September 7 – Morning session: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM / Afternoon session: 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Rest of the weeks: Classes will take place on Tuesdays – Morning session: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM / Afternoon session: 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM
La inversión por persona para realizar este programa es de USD 500. En esta primera edición, el 100% de los estudiantes seleccionados accede con una beca que cubre el 100% del costo, formalizada mediante la firma de un contrato de beca. Es decir, quienes resulten seleccionados no abonan costo alguno.
Para acceder a la beca es necesario postularse: completar el formulario de inscripción y realizar la evaluación de admisión. Solo las personas seleccionadas firmarán el contrato de beca y quedarán inscriptas en el programa.

To apply for a scholarship, candidates must complete the pre-registration form and pass the learning format suitability assessment (mandatory). The criteria for slot allocation are defined in the scholarship call guidelines.
There are 150 available slots: 75 for the morning group and 75 for the afternoon group.
The pre-registration period opens on August 17 and closes on August 28, 2026.
