Research scholarships provided by UTEC aim to strengthen the institution's research and development capabilities by training and attracting talent. They are intended to fund scholarships for conducting research activities within the framework of postgraduate projects, research projects, and technological service provision or development projects.

Scholarships are aimed at advanced students or university graduates without a postgraduate degree. Hours for entry-level teaching staff are funded through a fixed-term contract associated with the work project, for a maximum of 10 months and a minimum of 6 months. Additionally, the recipient is provided with funds to finance project expenses, such as the purchase of supplies or travel allowances. It should be noted that at least one of the scholarship tutors must be a UTEC teacher, and research activities must be carried out primarily at UTEC.

To access the scholarship, the interested person must:

• Possess at least 50% of approved credits for bachelor's degree or engineering programs and at least 70% of approved credits for technical and technologist programs
• Have a tutor from UTEC belonging to a research group and an endorsement letter from the host group
• Submit a Work Plan, detailing the line of research of the host group in which it is framed.
• Submit a motivation letter The call for these scholarships opens annually, with applications being submitted through the UTEC website.
