The research scholarships awarded by UTEC are intended to enhance the institution's research and development capabilities by fostering the training and recruitment of talented individuals. These scholarships aim to support the execution of research activities within the framework of graduate projects, research projects, and projects involving the provision or development of technological services.
The Research initiation scholarships are aimed at advanced students or university graduates without a postgraduate degree. The scholarship provides funding for up to 10 months of initial teaching hours, with a minimum of 6 months, and the beneficiary is given financial support to cover expenses related to the project, such as purchasing supplies or travel expenses.
Students from any university, whether national or international, can be beneficiaries of the scholarship. It's important to note that one of the scholarship's supervisors must be a UTEC professor, and the majority of the research activities should take place at UTEC.

To apply for the scholarship, the interested individual must:

• have at least 75% of the credits approved in their engineering, bachelor's, or technologist degree
• have a UTEC tutor who agrees to support them, identify the research group and project or service in which they will participate
• submit a work plan specifying the tasks they will perform and a letter of motivation

The call for Research Initiation Scholarships opens annually, and applicants can apply through Odoo if they belong to UTEC or through the UTEC website if they belong to another institution.
