Emerging Technologies for Smart Industry Research Group

The Emerging Technologies for Smart Industry Research Group focuses on the development and application of innovative technological solutions for the digital transformation of industry. This initiative seeks to integrate the latest emerging technologies to improve the efficiency, productivity, and sustainability of industrial processes. The group’s mission is to research and develop solutions based on emerging technologies, such as IoT, Artificial Intelligence, and Digital Twins, among others. It also aims to promote the adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies in traditional industrial processes, develop methodologies for the effective implementation of predictive maintenance, and foster innovation in industrial automation and cyber-physical systems.

  1. Decentralized applications using fog or edge computing for data-driven industrial optimization.
  2. IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) and Big Data systems to complement maintenance and supervision processes at medium and large scales.
  3. Instrumentation and actuation in cyber-physical systems.
  4. Real-time embedded systems to ensure high performance and reliability of robots and dedicated industrial machinery.
