The virtual talk for UTEC faculty and staff on competencies for inclusion in higher education is part of the ongoing training activities for educators. The session will be led by Dr. Carmen Márquez, PhD in Applied Social Sciences, and is open to both faculty and staff of the university.

Márquez is a professor at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education at the Autonomous University of Madrid, coordinator of the Spanish Center for Documentation and Research on Disability, and an associate researcher at the UNESCO International Institute for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Her research focuses on inclusion and exclusion processes at all educational levels. She has participated in numerous national and international projects on these topics, and as a result, she highlights in all her publications the weak commitment of education systems to equity and inclusion.
