ABOUT THE PROGRAM

This program is aimed at young people who want to take their first steps in the dairy sector. It is a short course designed to provide technical knowledge and offer an introduction to one of the most productive sectors of Uruguay’s economy. It also seeks to give participants the opportunity to become part of an educational community.

In this context, the program offers comprehensive training in dairy production while fostering integration into a group that serves as a space for belonging and exchange. In addition to strengthening technical skills, it is expected that this experience will inspire participants to continue their education and further their professional development.

Quienes completen la formación tendrán un comprensión general de los sistemas de producción lechera y serán capaces de:

  • Analizar los principales procesos productivos para la toma de decisiones.
  • Identificar los principales desafíos de la lechería.
  • Comprender un sistema productivo en todas sus dimensiones (humana, ambiental,
    económica, productiva).

The program is structured in independently assessed modules. It is delivered in a face-to-face format, complemented by synchronous and asynchronous virtual activities. Although the modules can be taken and completed individually, participants are strongly encouraged to complete the full program.

The approximate schedule is from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Some sessions include practical activities at the campus dairy farm as well as educational field visits.
