+ABOUT THE DEGREE

This program is based on a curriculum aimed at addressing the problem of the rational and sustainable use of water resources and the treatment of effluents in the agricultural and agro-industrial sectors - two of the most important sectors of socioeconomic development of the country. The high specialization and modernization that these sectors require today to be competitive, added to climate variability and the application of good environmental practices, require greater knowledge and adequate training in irrigation, drainage and effluent management techniques and technologies.

This program awards an associate's degree upon completion of the third-year of courses (Technologist).   

  • High school graduates from the Secondary Education Council from the following tracks: Biological and Agricultural Sciences, Mathematics and Design, Physics-Mathematics, Social-Economic, Social-Humanistic and equivalent plans.
  • Technical High School graduates from the Technical and Professional Education Council.

Graduates from this degree will be competent to:

  • Conceptualize, design and optimize the existing irrigation districts and modules in the country.
  • Carry out a comprehensive management of agricultural and agroindustrial effluents.
  • Design agricultural drainage systems and systems for the recovery of saline soils.
  • Provide consultancy services to producers, industrialists and decision makers on technological, economic, regulatory and environmental aspects of irrigation, drainage and effluent management systems.
  • Research, innovate and develop scientific, technological and engineering-based enterprises in the competency areas.
